Warning from the Cyprus Forestry Department

The Cyprus Forestry Department has expressed its concern regarding the illegal chopping down of trees, which happens every year for Easter for the traditional bonfire.

In the officials’ reminded the public that for such actions it is necessary to acquire the written permission, even if the trees are on privately owned land.

The Department requested the local authorities to report any violations. They will be investigated and the perpetrators will be punished.
