Wealthyhood report finds Greek investors starting small and taking a long-term approach
A Wealthyhood study of more than 35,000 registered users finds a median investor age of 34, a typical €100 starting investment and rising interest in Greek shares.

Athens, Greece. Retail investors in Greece are entering stock markets with modest sums and a focus on long-term investing, a new Wealthyhood report indicates. The investment platform, which has partnered with Bank of Cyprus to broaden investment access in Cyprus, found that the typical newcomer starts with €100.
Investor profile and returns
Wealthyhood’s report, titled ‘Greek Investor Pulse 2026: The New Greek Investor’, uses aggregated, anonymised information covering over 35,000 registered users. It marks one year since the platform entered Greece in October 2025.
According to the findings, the median investor age is 34. Those younger than 30 represent 34 per cent of investors, while the 35–44 age group accounts for 31 per cent.
The report describes participants from a range of regions, age groups and income levels, predominantly employees and self-employed professionals earning everyday incomes.
It found that over 80 per cent of investors were currently making a profit. Women represented roughly one-sixth of new investors but recorded higher annual returns than men: 23.8 per cent compared with 20.9 per cent.
Interest in domestic investments
The findings suggest increasing demand for domestic equities. Following the addition of Greek shares in July 2026, one-fifth of investors now hold Greek stocks or exchange-traded funds (ETFs), according to the report.
Alexandros Christodoulakis, Wealthyhood’s co-founder and chief executive, thanked clients for their confidence during its first year operating in Greece. He pledged continued daily improvements to the application, with the aim of making investment straightforward, affordable and safe for all.
Bank of Cyprus partnership
The findings also have relevance for Cyprus, where Wealthyhood and Bank of Cyprus introduced a jointly branded investment platform earlier this year. Residents can use the service without being customers of the bank.
The Wealthyhood x BoC platform later added trading in shares from Cyprus and Greece. Through one application, retail investors can access companies quoted on the Cyprus Stock Exchange and Euronext Athens, with fractional investments starting at €1.
