Weapons and ammunition found in open area of Nicosia district

Nicosia, Cyprus. Police found guns and ammunition in an open area of the Nicosia district on Saturday following a tipoff.

Discovery near Koutrafas

The items were found at about 2.30pm in the Koutrafas area, next to the old Nicosia-Troodos road.

Officers recovered one semi-automatic weapon, two pistols, two silencers, three magazines and 66 cartridges of various calibres.

Scientific examinations

Police said the weapons will be sent for scientific examinations.
