Welfare benefit increases to be paid retroactively in late 2026
Cyprus welfare beneficiaries will receive retroactive increases in the final quarter of 2026, with disability, care and transport payments scheduled from August.

Nicosia, Cyprus. Welfare benefit increases will be paid retroactively to eligible beneficiaries during the final quarter of 2026 without any action required from them, the deputy welfare ministry announced on Wednesday.
The increases follow a July 2 cabinet decision and legislation concerning social inclusion and independent living for people with disabilities, the minimum guaranteed income (EEE) and social benefits more broadly.
Payment schedule
The welfare benefit management service said EEE payments for August would be made on Friday. The monthly care allowance and the related increase will be paid on August 28.
Payments will be deposited directly into beneficiaries’ bank accounts, while the increases will appear as separate payments.
Eligibility and amounts
People with disabilities registered by July 31 are entitled to a 10 per cent increase in benefits.
Beneficiaries under the age of 18 will receive an additional €87, bringing their total disability benefit to €455.
Those aged 18 to 65 and those over 65 will receive an additional €37, bringing the total benefit to €405.
For home care, beneficiaries will receive an additional amount equal to 10 per cent of their approved August benefit. The transport benefit will be increased to a total of €100, regardless of the amount previously paid.
Beneficiary information
The deputy ministry said beneficiaries only need to ensure that their bank and contact details are up to date to avoid delays.
