Yellow weather warning issued as inland Cyprus temperatures reach 40C

Nicosia, Cyprus. The Met Office has issued a yellow weather warning for high temperatures on Sunday afternoon, with some inland areas expected to reach 40C between 2pm and 4.30pm.

Temperature forecast

Temperatures are expected to range from 35C to 38C on southern beaches, 32C to 34C in northern and western areas, and around 25C in the mountains.

Outlook for next week

A slight fall in temperatures is forecast at the start of next week. By midweek, a new air mass is expected to affect the region, bringing early morning mist to coastal areas.
