The Modern Russian Library in Cyprus is located in Limassol and houses over one and a half thousand fiction and non-fiction books for children and adults.
For Russian-speaking residents of Limassol, the library addresses the issue of access to books, particularly children’s books. Consequently, great attention is paid to building up the children’s collection.
You can find the book you’re looking for using the library’s online catalogue.
The ‘Russian Library’ social project began with the purchase of 500 children’s books and a personal collection of books for adults belonging to Larisa Arshinskaya, the project’s initiator and sponsor.
To date, the library’s collection has already tripled in size, and it continues to purchase new, contemporary books whilst gratefully accepting literary donations from visitors.
The library has had to move three times. Initially, it was based at the ‘Lukomorye’ children’s centre and the ‘Russian House’.
In 2019, the library found a new home on the premises of the ‘Robolab’ robotics and programming school.
By registering your child at the library, you will help them to grow and develop intellectually.

A one-year membership costs 35 euros; a six-month membership costs 20 euros. Memberships can be renewed upon expiry.
A single membership covers the whole family, which is great value for readers.
Both children and adults can borrow a reasonable number of books per week, with the option to renew for a further week.
You can request a renewal by telephone or email.
When collecting books, you must pay a deposit of €5 per book. The deposit is refunded once you have finished using the library and have returned all books on time and in good condition.
For residents of Limassol, the library has launched an additional service: the opportunity to purchase high-quality books in various genres and subjects, in Russian and English, at very low prices.
Proceeds from the sale of second-hand books go towards updating the library’s collection
You can purchase any book you like via our Facebook and Instagram pages

The library is open: Tuesdays from 17.00 to 20.00, Wednesdays from 10.00 to 13.00.
