In this guide, we’ll take a look at what Cyprus’s best hotels have to offer when it comes to organising wedding ceremonies.
A wedding at the Four Seasons 5* Hotel (Limassol)
In 2014–2015, the hotel is offering couples a range of wedding packages, from small receptions to large-scale events.
For example, the Silver Package includes: accommodation; fruit punch; French sparkling wine; 8 canapés or petit fours per person; and a cocktail reception in the hotel’s ballroom. This package is designed for events of 1,000 guests or more (€20,750).
The Wedding Reception package includes a two-hour cocktail reception at the Vista Terrace café with local alcoholic and non-alcoholic drinks (white and red house wine, beer, soft drinks, juices, French sparkling wine); 4 canapés per person. Price: €30 per person. Guests can choose from: canapés with smoked salmon and chum salmon roe, Parma ham with melon, Chiomer and Anari cheeses with melon, prawns with avocado mousse, mini tartlets with salmon roe and cream cheese, mozzarella, tomatoes and olives, and much more.
The ‘Wedding Dinner’ package includes organisation of the event at Café Tropical or by the sea; a four-course dinner comprising starters, soups, a main course and dessert; a 4-hour reception, including local white and red house wine, beer, local brandy, soft drinks, juices, bottled mineral water and coffee. The cost is €90 per person.
The cost of organising a wedding ceremony at the hotel is €1,100 for couples not planning to stay at the hotel, and €550 for couples staying at the Four Seasons 5* for more than 5 days. For couples staying at the hotel who book a wedding dinner for at least 20 guests, the ceremony is organised free of charge. An additional government registration fee of €282 applies.
Wedding at the Antara 5* Hotel (Polis)
The wedding package at the Antara 5* Hotel includes the services of a wedding coordinator in Cyprus; a dinner for 6 people; a selection of tablecloths and bows to decorate the banquet hall; floral decorations for the wedding hall; a personalised menu and the production of invitation cards; a choice of a 5-course menu or a buffet for guests, as well as juices, soft drinks and water; a wedding cake; one night’s accommodation in the ‘Buddha’ suite, including breakfast and service for the couple; a welcome message for the newlyweds; late check-out (until 16:00); a first-anniversary celebration with an exquisite dinner for two; a 10% discount on spa services; the services of a photographer for 2 hours; signature cocktails during the reception; 6 canapés per person during the reception; a limousine for the newlyweds. The price for a wedding at the 5* Antara Hotel is available on request.
Wedding at the Annabelle 5* Hotel (Paphos)
A luxury hotel offering magnificent views of the Mediterranean Sea; the wedding package includes 20 chair covers; a red carpet; a decorated ceremony table; musical accompaniment for the ceremony and to welcome the newlyweds; 1 bottle of local sparkling wine for the newlyweds; a post-wedding breakfast with champagne; a candlelit dinner for two; a 10% discount on spa treatments when booked in advance; a room upgrade where available; early check-in; and, to celebrate your first wedding anniversary, one night’s accommodation is provided free of charge. The package costs €550, excluding the cost of the room.
Weddings at the Elysium 5* Hotel (Paphos)
The magnificent Elysium 5* offers guests a comprehensive programme for organising wedding ceremonies. To organise a wedding at the hotel, the newlyweds must book accommodation (minimum 7 nights); a cocktail reception and dinner in the hotel restaurant; a wedding cake; the services of a photographer; floral arrangements; hairdressing services; an entertainment programme; and transport. The cost of the wedding coordinator’s services is €290 (included in all the hotel’s wedding packages).
Upon arrival at the hotel, the newlyweds will be greeted with a fruit platter; flowers and a bottle of sparkling wine; a room upgrade; petal decorations in the bedroom and bathroom; aromatic oils in the bathroom; a voucher worth €30 per person for the bride and groom to use at the Opium Spa; and a candlelit dinner with a bottle of house wine (for weddings with 15 or more guests).
The newlyweds can order a cocktail reception (white, rosé and red wine, sparkling wine, Cypriot brandy, ouzo or zivania, local beer, soft drinks and local mineral water) or a full lunch or dinner. The cost of organising a cocktail reception is €26 per person (1 hour).
When organising a wedding dinner, you can choose a 3-, 4- or 5-course menu. For starters, you might be served carpaccio with Parmesan and rocket; smoked duck breast with tropical fruits; smoked salmon with asparagus and mustard; foie gras medallions with caramelised apples; tuna tartare and a host of other starters. The selection of soups includes: mushroom soup with truffle oil, lobster soup, Mediterranean vegetable soup and others. For dinner, you can also order sorbets (orange and Campari, basil and lemon, mandarin and basil, pears and Calvados). The selection of hot dishes is impressive: pan-fried veal fillet with potatoes and truffle sauce, beef medallions with courgette, chicken breast with wild mushrooms and potato patties, lamb with herbs, sea bass fillet with artichokes and other exquisite dishes. The cost of a 5-course wedding dinner is 72 euros per person.
Honeymoon at the Anassa 5* Hotel (Akamas)
One of Cyprus’s finest hotels – the 5* Anassa – is a favourite with visitors to the island (in 2014, the King and Queen of Belgium, who were staying in Cyprus on a private visit, chose to stay at this hotel).
The honeymoon package in Cyprus includes: flowers; a bottle of French champagne; sweet treats from the head chef on arrival at the hotel; a luxurious breakfast for two in your room with French champagne; a romantic candlelit dinner for two, served in your room, comprising four courses and wine; the ‘Aphrodite Bath’ at the spa (a bath with rose petals and natural oils); a honeymoon gift from the hotel, including two branded terry bathrobes.
The cost of the ‘Honeymoon’ package is €630 per couple (accommodation is not included in the package).
