Happy Half Day (daily tour)

half a day Limassol

Description

Today, you can experience all the beauty Cyprus has to offer in just a couple of hours. We’re introducing a new tour format: Happy Half Day! Thanks to modern technology, you don’t need to spend the whole day on a sightseeing tour of Cyprus.

We’ll save you time and show you much more in a few hours than you could see in a whole day.

‘Happy Half Day’ excursions – for those who value their time!

Our tour begins in Limassol, Cyprus’s second-largest city, which is extraordinary in its beauty and rich in medieval history.

Happy Half Day (daily tour)You’ll take a journey back in time by visiting the Central Exhibition of Cypriot History – a unique project dedicated to the medieval period. You’ll see castles and monasteries, ancient towns and ports, learn how knights lived and on which ship Princess Berengaria sailed to Cyprus, and get a sense of what life was like on the island when it was one of the centres of Mediterranean civilisation.

What’s more, you’ll witness a re-enactment of a medieval battle and have a brilliant time.

And our younger guests will have a marvellous time taking part in the ‘Treasure Hunt’ quest. There is a café on the exhibition grounds where you can enjoy a delicious coffee and some fresh pastries.

Happy Half Day (daily tour)Afterwards, we’ll return to the present day and visit Limassol’s medieval castle, which has survived to this day and will tell you about the history of the Middle Ages and the events that took place in Cyprus at that time. According to legend, in 1191, the wedding of King Richard the Lionheart of England and Princess Berengaria of Navarre took place here, and she was crowned with the English crown.

Situated in the heart of the Old Town, not far from the Old Harbour, you can stroll through the colourful narrow streets, enjoy a cup of Cypriot coffee, sample local cuisine, buy souvenirs and visit a workshop selling items made from natural sea sponges.

Our next stop will be at the medieval castle of Kolossi. The castle was built in the early 13th century by Guy de Lusignan, commander of the Kingdom of Jerusalem.
