Drouseia (Droushia) is a mountain village in Paphos District, 10 km south of Polis and 30 km from Paphos, at about 620–630 metres above sea level on the highest point of the Laona plateau. Its name is linked to the Greek ‘drosia’ (coolness): thanks to its altitude and the breezes from Akamas, it stays cool in summer.
The village has stone houses with carved doors and windows, taverns known for Cypriot cuisine and a weaving museum. The 15th-century monastery of Agios Georgios Nikoxylitis, rebuilt in 1923 after a fire, stands nearby.
