The number of tourist who visited Cyprus in March has increase by 40%. This is a significant increase and possibly, the year 2016 will mark a new milestone of the tourism industry.
The representative of the CTO stated that the increase of the number of tourists was rising over the last few months and unless something unexpected happens, this year the new record of the whole Cyprus tourism history is expected.
Last year, over 2 650 000 tourists came of the island, thus beating the 14 year old record.
Experts are saying that despite the Euro exchange rate, Cyprus attracts more and more tourists because it is seen as the safe holiday destination especially in comparison with other countries where there is instability.
