The OSYPA bus company in Paphos has announced the strike for unspecified period of time to demonstrate their protest. The employees said that the reason for the strike is the violation of the agreement by the Ministry of Communication.

The chairman of the association declared that the strike will continue until the government will fulfill its obligations. In the list of demands is the updating of the buses and ensuring comfort for drivers and passengers. During the previous summer, air conditioners did not work in the buses.

More than 100 buses are staying at the parking lot and are not going on their routes. The approximate evaluations state that the strike affected around 5,000 students and another 10,000 people, majority of whom are pensioners, who are using the public transport.
