The negotiations between the PASYKY and Ministry of Health have finally ended with the 3 million deal. According to the Minister of Health- Mr. George Pamborides, the salary of the doctors will increase, but they will be obliged to participate in the negotiations about the autonomy of the state hospitals and about the gradual implementation of the governmental plans.
Earlier, the doctors were protesting against the creation of the National Healthcare system and even sent on strike. The head of the organisation Mr. Sotiris Koumas stated that “PASYKY greatly appreciates the decision of the Ministry. However if the the offers made by the doctors were to be accepted earlier, it would’ve been possible to avoid numerous problems”.
