The specialised medical facility was opened by President Anastasiades in Nicosia. This is the the first surgery centre in Cyprus, which is dedicated solely to dealing with the breast cancer.
During the opening ceremony the President said that the medical centre will not only save thousands of lives, but also will serve as a catalyst for other reforms in the Healthcare system.
According to the statistical data, the breast cancer in Cyprus is the most widespread form of cancer. This condition takes 100 lives every year. With the help of the new medical centre, this figure can be reduced by 30%.
