Locals and tourist are complaining about the rubbish floating in the sea in Limassol. One person even wrote a letter to the Cyprus Tourism Organisation. He described the appalling situation on the Limassol beaches. That person believes that those pollutants may be armful for health.
Cyprus Mail has also published several complaints from the locals, which were very firm on the issue.
The Green party is actively urging the authorities and the environmental committee to resolve the problem, however the officials did not respond yet.
