The Melios Zoo is under threat of shutting down

The Melios Zoo in Nicosia has attracted the media’s attention once again. The Green Party has made numerous accusations of the animal cruelty and inappropriate conditions.

Moreover, they accuse the Zoo in becoming a pet shop, which is aimed at the sale of exotic animals. For example, the zoo has recently imported wild cats, which were purchased by the private individuals for several thousands of Euros.

The leader of the party Giorgios Perdikis has prepared a report covering the activity of the Melios Zoo for the Ministry of Agriculture and he has suggest to shut it down.
