Nicosia, Cyprus. The Buffer Fringe Performing Arts Festival returns for its 11th edition on October 2-4, 2026, after a three-year break. Local and international artists will present performances and installations across Nicosia’s divide, with all activities free and open to everyone.
Opening day
The festival begins on October 2 at 4pm with the Buffer Fringe Walk on Art and Activism. Starting at the Home for Cooperation, it will explore intersections of art and activism in the old city across the divide before ending at CYENS Centre of Excellence. Registration is required through the Home for Cooperation website.
At CYENS Centre of Excellence, Yeva Sai and Matteo Marongiu will present One Sunday Morning at 6pm, followed by Koullou Makka Collective’s In Our Bubble(s) at 7pm.
Performances and installations
On October 3, installations open throughout the evening at the Home for Cooperation will include Pinned, Camera Obscura by Melina Michael, Threads of Heritage by Yasemin Kemal and Witness: Past and Present by Lüsen Işık.
Performances begin at 6pm with One Sunday Morning, followed by Don’t look at the Dead Cat! by Beatrice Mariani, Skyla Buchanan, Chiara Capizzi and Jitske Cosemans, and folkLOL:more by Maria Savva. From 8pm, the programme continues with Antonis Christ’s deep inside., Selsu Solman’s Lingo Lingo Şişeler and Anas Younes’s On Anger and Fatigue. Alejjos will close the night with a DJ set.

At Rustem Bookshop on October 4, Sophie Fetokaki and Rahme Veziroglu will present Fruta oneiron rüyadaki meyveler at 4pm. Karakoncoles will perform a work of the same name at 8pm, followed at 9pm by a poetry and live electronics performance from x.pno and Panayiotis Mina. DJ Nevss will close the festival with a set at 10pm.
