Nicosia, Cyprus. Air transport prices in Cyprus fell by 1.8 per cent in June 2026 compared with the same month a year earlier, according to Eurostat data. The decline contrasted with a 3.1 per cent annual increase in air transport prices across the European Union.

Cyprus monthly trend

The June decrease followed mixed annual changes in Cyprus in recent months.

Air transport prices rose by 7.8 per cent in May 2026, after falling by 0.7 per cent in April and 0.4 per cent in March. The figures indicate a rebound in May before prices returned to negative territory in June.

European Union figures

Eurostat said air transport service prices, including plane tickets, have fluctuated significantly since January 2025, reflecting changes in travel demand, seasonal patterns and recent geopolitical developments.

The strongest year-on-year increase in the EU between January 2025 and June 2026 was recorded in April 2025, when prices were 13.7 per cent higher than in April 2024.

More moderate increases followed during the summer months. Air fares declined year on year at the start of 2026, rose in February and March, and then fell sharply by 4.7 per cent in April 2026.
