EAC schedules Paphos power cuts for network maintenance
The Electricity Authority of Cyprus will carry out planned electricity interruptions in several Paphos district communities on Monday, August 31.

Paphos, Cyprus. The Electricity Authority of Cyprus (EAC) has announced planned power cuts in several communities in the Paphos district on Monday, August 31, to allow maintenance work on the medium-voltage overhead network.
Consumers have been advised to treat electrical installations as live throughout the scheduled outage periods, as electricity may be restored earlier than indicated.
Scheduled interruptions
Electricity will be interrupted in Goudi from 8am to 10am.
From 8am to 2pm, planned cuts will affect Pano Akourdalia, Kato Akourdalia, Terra, Skoulli, Choli and the northwestern part of Kritou Terra.
Further interruptions are scheduled from 10am to 2pm in Giolou, Miliou, Simou, Loukrounou, Kritou Terra, Pano Arodes, Kato Arodes, Ineia, Droushia and Pittokopos.
Maintenance work
The EAC said the interruptions may not last for the full periods announced and apologised for any inconvenience. It said the outages were necessary for maintenance work to be carried out safely on the medium-voltage overhead network.
Island-wide outage investigation
The EAC is also continuing an investigation into power cuts reported across the island last Friday. According to the authority’s initial announcement, the problem resulted from a temporary loss of communication between the Distribution Control Centre and photovoltaic parks connected to the distribution network.
