Nicosia, Cyprus. The health ministry has unveiled its vaccination plan for flu, Covid-19 and RSV for autumn and winter 2026-2027. Vaccines are offered free of charge, with vulnerable and high-risk individuals encouraged to get vaccinated.

Seasonal vaccination priorities

The ministry said the viruses circulate seasonally and can place pressure on health services.

Everyone over six months of age is eligible for the seasonal flu vaccine, with priority given to vulnerable groups, particularly people over 60.

Flu vaccines and access

Two flu vaccines, Vaxigrip TIV and Efluelda, will be available. Efluelda vaccinations began in early October for people over 60, subject to stock availability. An announcement regarding Vaxigrip TIV will follow.

Gesy beneficiaries can receive the flu vaccine through their personal doctor by appointment.

People who are not Gesy beneficiaries can visit adult vaccination centres or maternity protection and child welfare centres, following the centres’ schedules and consent requirements.

Covid-19 vaccine eligibility

Everyone over six months of age is also eligible for the Covid-19 vaccine, with a focus on vulnerable individuals, particularly people over 60.
