Paphos, Cyprus. Eight travel agents from Germany are being hosted by the Paphos regional tourism board (Etap) in an initiative aimed at increasing German visitor numbers and positioning the district as a leading destination for year-round travel.

Visits beyond the main tourist centres

Etap said in an announcement that it is coordinating the programme and arranging destination visits in close collaboration with Louis Hotels.

The familiarisation itinerary includes a wide-ranging series of excursions and rural visits throughout the district, introducing the agents to areas outside the established tourism hubs. According to Etap, the visit allows participants to experience the area’s natural attractions, extensive cultural heritage and improved infrastructure directly.

Cooperation and market development

Etap said the initiative also underlines the value of collaboration between public bodies and private tourism businesses in promoting the region’s visitor offering and improving its international profile and recognition.

The board said the effort seeks to open up opportunities in strategically significant markets in Central Europe, while backing Paphos’ ongoing development and overseas promotion as a year-round destination.
