Stitched into the Landscape exhibition opens in Pedoulas
Andreani Panayides and Vasilis Savvidis present works combining graphic art and Lefkara lace at Elyssia Boutique Hotel until November 11.

Pedoulas, Cyprus. Stitched into the Landscape, an exhibition by Andreani Panayides and Vasilis Savvidis, will run at Elyssia Boutique Hotel from September 11 to November 11. The exhibition is supported by the Deputy Ministry of Culture’s Cultural Decentralisation Programme 2026.
Exhibition works
The exhibition combines graphic works, Lefkara lace embroidery and installations inspired by everyday Cypriot life. Alongside framed works, it includes a tavli set in which the dice and playing stones have been replaced with Lefkara lace.
Savvidis created hand-drawn graphic works on linen using a fabric pen. The pieces depict old doors and windows, tavli, Cypriot coffee and traditional Cypriot chairs.
Panayides hand stitches traditional Lefkara lace onto each work. The exhibition materials are made by hand and are not printed.
Artist collaboration
Panayides, founder of the Folkmona fashion brand, trained in Lefkara lace at the Cyprus Handicraft Service. Savvidis works in animation.
The artists said their collaboration sought to bring traditional Lefkara lace into a contemporary context while reflecting the slower rhythm of Cypriot life.
Free workshops
Panayides will hold free Lefkara lace workshops for the community and visitors on September 12 and 13, and October 10 and 11.
The workshops will introduce participants to the technique of Lefkara lace, a craft included on UNESCO’s list.
