Tax return deadline for 2025 extended to November 30 without penalties
Chief tax officer Marios Michail said taxpayers have until November 30 to submit their 2025 returns without additional interest or penalties.

Nicosia, Cyprus. Taxpayers have until November 30 to file their 2025 returns without incurring additional interest or penalties, chief tax officer Marios Michail announced on Tuesday.
Extension aims to support taxpayers
Michail said several considerations had informed the decision, including growth in taxpayer numbers. He noted that there had been approximately 245,000 taxpayers in 2016.
The extension was intended to help taxpayers meet their obligations, he explained, stressing that moving the deadline did not render it obsolete.
Submission figures and outstanding declarations
According to Michail, 253,000 taxpayers had processed their returns by October 19, including 25,500 whose returns remained under provisional receipt status.
The processed total represented 74 per cent of the corresponding figure for 2024, while final submissions stood at approximately 68 per cent, he said.
Michail added that work on outstanding 2024 declarations was continuing. Declarations covering years through 2023 had been cleared, apart from certain cases needing further processing.
He said refunds would only be issued once every stage of processing was complete.
Who must file
For 2025, Michail said individuals whose gross income exceeded €19,500 were required to submit a tax return. Those earning less were not required to file but could choose to submit one voluntarily.
