Joseph Houston – Piano recital

The 8^th International Pharos Contemporary Music Festival will finish with the solo recital of Joseph Houston, who is one of the most wanted rising stars in the modern music world.

His incredible concert will feature the various music masterpiece starting with the works of Scarlatti and Liszt, continuing with the works of Messiaen, Ives & Xenakis and culminating with the Cypriot premiere of Thomas Simaku and Christian Mason.

Olivier Messiaen (1908-1992)

• Ile de Feu I (from Quatre études de rythme), 1950.

Thomas Simaku (1958)

• Deux Esquisses.

Christian Mason (1984)

• Remembered Resonance (2014).

Iannis Xenakis (1922-2001)

• Mists (1980).

Franz Liszt (1811-1886)

• Les Cloches de Genève (from Années de Pèlerinage I), 1855.
