Astana, Kazakhstan. President Nikos Christodoulides will be received by Kazakhstani President Kassym-Jomart Tokayev in Astana at 11am on Wednesday, with bilateral meetings and delegation talks scheduled during the visit. He is also due to inaugurate the first Cypriot embassy in Astana later in the day.
Meetings and agreements
The reception of Christodoulides will be followed by a private meeting between the two presidents and then expanded talks between the delegations of both countries.
Later on Wednesday, Christodoulides and Tokayev will sign a Memorandum of Understanding on higher education, culture research, IT, sports and e-government. A further Memorandum of Understanding will be signed on behalf of both chambers of commerce.
Visit to AI centre
Shortly after 5.30pm local time, Christodoulides and his delegation will visit the International Centre for Artificial Intelligence, Alem AI, where he will be received by Kazakhstani Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Artificial Intelligence Zhaslan Madiyev.
Embassy inauguration and delegation
At 6.30pm, Christodoulides will inaugurate the first Cypriot embassy in Astana.
During his visit to Kazakhstan, Christodoulides is accompanied by Foreign Minister Constantinos Kombos, Energy Minister Michael Damianos, Deputy Minister to the President Irine Piki, Deputy Minister of Research Nicodemos Damianou, Director of the Diplomatic Office of the President Doros Venezis, Deputy Government Spokesperson Yiannis Antoniou and other officials.
Christodoulides will return to Cyprus on Thursday.
