The new mayor of Polis Mr. Yiotis Papachristofi stated that the state hospital in the city urgently requires qualified staff. For over 1,5 months the hospital is missing a cardiologist and other specialists.
Mayor demands urgent meeting with the Minister of Health Mr. Pamborides and other officials in Nicosia in order to resolve the problem in the most expedited manner.
Last year, the government offered a temporary solution, which provided for the GPs and cardiologists from Paphos to see patients from Polis, however doctors in Polis believe that it will only worsen the situation.
