Arrests due to fake marriage schemes

Four men from Pakistan aged 23 to 30 and two women from Bulgaria were arrested in Larnaca.

The authorities suspect that they were involved in the fake marriages scheme, which was created in order to deceive the European governments: men were marrying with European women in order to get the residence permit in the EU member states.

It remains unclear whether these individuals have any connection with the recent cases about fake marriages.
