Nicosia temperatures forecast to reach 40C as yellow heat warning issued

Nicosia, Cyprus. Temperatures in Nicosia are expected to reach around 40 degrees Celsius on Saturday, when a yellow warning for extreme heat will be in effect from 1pm to 4pm.

Saturday forecast

The weather is expected to remain mainly clear during the day. Afternoon cloud development may bring isolated rain or thunderstorms, mainly in the Troodos area.

Temperatures are forecast to reach around 31C in areas including Paphos, 35C in Limassol and Larnaca, and 28C in Troodos.

Overnight conditions

Overnight temperatures are expected to fall to around 22C in Nicosia, 23C in Limassol and 19C in Troodos.

Local mist and low cloud are forecast to develop during the early morning hours.

Outlook

Isolated showers or thunderstorms may occur in Troodos on Sunday afternoon. Temporarily increased cloud cover on Monday and Tuesday may also bring brief rainfall.

Temperatures are expected to rise gradually over the coming days and remain above seasonal averages.
