Two arrested over alleged attack and robbery of delivery driver in Erimi

Erimi, Cyprus. Police arrested two men, aged 19 and 21, on suspicion of attacking and robbing a 25-year-old delivery driver in the Erimi area of Limassol early on Tuesday. The suspects also face allegations of possessing cannabis with intent to supply.

Alleged attack and robbery

According to police, the incident occurred at around 2.30am on Tuesday, when two individuals allegedly attacked the delivery driver and stole his waist bag and motorcycle.

During the investigation, police obtained testimony against the two suspects. Officers found the motorcycle keys in the 21-year-old’s possession, while the delivery driver’s waist bag was found in the yard of the suspects’ home.

Drug seizure

Police said officers visiting the suspects’ home saw the 19-year-old throw an object into the yard. The object was found to contain eight packages of dry green cannabis plant material with a total gross weight of 308 grams, as well as a precision scale.

Following examinations by members of the drug squad YKAN, the 21-year-old directed officers to an open area in Erimi, where four further packages of dried cannabis, with a total gross weight of 464 grams, were found buried in the ground.

The two suspects were arrested under court warrants and taken into custody. Police investigations are continuing.
